Started as Buena's Garments with eight (8) manual sewing machines, manufacturing baby dresses, ladies’ blouses and housedresses; supplied to local market, and later exported to

Guam, Saipan, and other stores in the Micronesian Islands.

Moved to our new building at 52 Thomas Street, Multinational Village and carried a new business name " Metro Index Garments".

Started manufacturing for Mondragon International as Philippines licensee for Nike International manufacturing and distribution, Rustan's, Robinson's, Isetann and Bench. Explored new skills like printing and embroidery while working for Mondragon International.

From Sole proprietorship, Metro Index became a full pledge corporation.

Started manufacturing with for AVON Cosmetics Philippines.

Incorporated the company and assumed a corporate name Metro Index Garments, Inc.

The company experienced 100% growth in terms of machines, manpower and volume output. Product manufactured ranged from men’s and women’s collection-type blouses, skirts, tees and pants to kid’s dresses, shorts and accessories.

We continue to diversify our product line for AVON by going into panty, brassieres, and sleepwear manufacturing

Metro Index has embarked on an exciting new project, beginning the conceptualization of an innovative bra line.

With the folding of Mondragon International, Nike Philippines continued to engage our services as Nike Manufacturer. We further upgraded our systems and facilities in preparation to our entry to the export market. The Metro Intimate Apparel Corporation (MIA Corp) was formally established. This year also marks the construction of the MIA Corp building.

We took the challenge of Nike’s Corporate Social Responsibility Compliance (SHAPE Audit) and we are the very first factory in the Philippines to have garnered a 100% rating in the compliance audit.

AVON Cosmetics, Inc. recognized Metro Index Garments, Inc. as “Vendor of the Year”, for excellence in quality, delivery, and PERT adherence. We also earned recognition for “Support to Over Sales”, “Option-to-Return” and “Late Plug-in” categories. “Vendor of the

Year award is the coveted plaque of appreciation by ACI vendors.

For the second time, Metro Index Garments, Inc. was recognized by AVON Cosmetics Inc. as “Vendor of the Year” including awards for “Support to Over Sales”, “Option-to-Return” and “Late Plug-in”.

We launched our company -wide 5S Quality Program thru the Garment & Textile Export Board (GTEB) Productivity Program. We have successfully earned our Social Accountability (SA) 8000 certification as well.

Metro Index Garments, Inc, continue to receive “Support to Over Sales”, “Option to-Return” and “Late Plug-in” awards from AVON from 2003 to 2004. Our ongoing preparation for globalization paved the way for the creation of a new facility to increase production capacity by 100% intimate apparel in June 2004.

In this year, MIACorp ceased operations. Meanwhile, Metro Index Garments, Inc. was once again honored as AVON's 'Vendor of the Year.

Metro Index Garments, Inc. was recognized as AVON’s “Vendor of the Year” for the fourth time. The company has passed the benchmark set by the company of all suppliers in terms

of timeliness, quality and cost and for our consistent performance, the company was offered volume orders twice the quantity awarded in 2007.

Metro Index Garments, Inc. was recognized for attaining 99.7% Overall Quality Rating by AVON Cosmetics, Inc.

Compliance to AVON’s Corporate Social Responsibility and Quality Management System requirements. We expanded operations through different subcontractors.

Metro Index Garments, Inc. received an award of “Best in Manufacturing Agility” from Asia Pacific Beauty Boutique & Home, Intimate Apparel Category.

Another partnership highlights Metro Index Garments’ capabilities when we formed a strategic partnership with Golden ABC Inc. for Penshoppe to produce their intimate apparel line.

Following this successful collaboration with Golden ABC and AVON Philippines, another reputable company, So-en, also entered into a collaborative agreement with us to further expand our offerings and reach. In 2023, we received an Excellence in Quality award from AVON Philippines for delivering unparalleled craftsmanship and customization in every bra we create.
